Description

The Chwastox Extra 300 SL herbicide, available in our agro-garden store, is used to combat broadleaf weeds that affect the most common cereal crops. According to the product label, it can be applied for the protection of:

• spring and winter wheat

• spring and winter barley

• spring and winter triticale

• rye

• oats

• apple orchards

Weeds controlled by Chwastox Extra 300 SL

When applied at the correct dose (as indicated on the label), this herbicide effectively controls a wide range of annual broadleaf weeds, including susceptible, moderately susceptible, and moderately resistant species:

• fumitory, shepherd’s purse, common chickweed

• wild mustard, scarlet pimpernel, field larkspur, field horsetail

• barnyard grass

• common lamb's quarters

• purple dead-nettle

• dandelion

• couch grass

• rough nettle

The product’s herbicidal action comes from its active ingredient: MCPA (26.5%) — a phenoxy acid compound that mimics plant growth hormones. Excess absorption leads to hormonal disruption in sensitive weeds, resulting in visible deformations, discolouration, growth inhibition, and eventual death.

Application and Storage

This product is a liquid concentrate and should be diluted with water before use. According to the label, the recommended dosage is:
3 L per hectare with 200–300 L of water.

Apply using a medium-droplet spray via field or orchard sprayers. Maximum one treatment per growing season.

➡️ Optimal performance is achieved at 12–20°C
➡️ Do not apply when the temperature is below 8°C

For use in apple orchards: apply in combination with other herbicides during active weed growth, after removing root suckers. Avoid spraying foliage, shoots, or trunks of the cultivated trees.

IMPORTANT: Areas treated with this herbicide must be kept off-limits to grazing animals for at least 3 weeks following application.
